Summary

Never give up on your dream—or on love。

Unlike other women her age, Anna MacDonald has never set much hope in finding herself a husband。
Far more important is the task of finding a position of employment。。。 in a society that is untrusting of female doctors and that has so far proved challenging, to say the least。
So, Anna resigns herself to replying to a collection of advertisements from men seeking mail-order brides。 Who knows? Maybe one of them might even live in a town that would welcome her as a doctor—
But what man would ever want a wife who places her career above family?
Alec Jenks knows all too well the challenges that come with choosing a career of your own design。
He was supposed to be a doctor like his father, but instead he chose the life of a blacksmith—much to the dismay of his mother。
Now that his career is established in Iron Creek, Alec has come to think that it might be time for him to start a family of his own—but there is just one problem。
With his overprotective mother still living with him, things might get a little complicated if he were to bring home a new wife。
Alec knows that he needs to find the right woman—someone who will love him regardless of his meddlesome relatives。 And when he receives Anna’s reply to his advertisement for a bride, he thinks maybe she could be just the one for him…
If only she can survive his mother。
The Blacksmith’s Mail-Order Doctor is a charming story of the challenges that come with life and love。 With time, distance, and Alec’s meddling mother standing in their way… will Anna and Alec find a way to be together? Or is this just the beginning of the end?

I read this book as an ARC and was so intrigued from the beginning。 Life is not easy for women now but it was so much harder back in the 1800’s。 Women were no more than third class citizens with no respect and no rights。 Then they tried to show they could be so much more and people (not just men) were not pleased。 This book is such a good representation of that struggle while also showing strength of spirit and character and fighting for the right to live your dream。 An amazing read if you want I read this book as an ARC and was so intrigued from the beginning。 Life is not easy for women now but it was so much harder back in the 1800’s。 Women were no more than third class citizens with no respect and no rights。 Then they tried to show they could be so much more and people (not just men) were not pleased。 This book is such a good representation of that struggle while also showing strength of spirit and character and fighting for the right to live your dream。 An amazing read if you want a feel good book with some twists and turns along the way。 。。。more

When Two Hearts Fall in Love。。。。!Sometimes a guy just needs to be given a gentle (or maybe not so gentle) shove in the right direction。 Funny how at times they can think up every excuse under the sun not to ask right question。What was going on between the Blacksmith, Alec Jenks and Dr Anna MacDonald gives us a rather delightful story which almost doesn't happen because of a meddling potential mother-in-law and a son who doesn't want to hurt her。 The characters are quite real and well formed and When Two Hearts Fall in Love。。。。!Sometimes a guy just needs to be given a gentle (or maybe not so gentle) shove in the right direction。 Funny how at times they can think up every excuse under the sun not to ask right question。What was going on between the Blacksmith, Alec Jenks and Dr Anna MacDonald gives us a rather delightful story which almost doesn't happen because of a meddling potential mother-in-law and a son who doesn't want to hurt her。 The characters are quite real and well formed and you can clearly get the picture of what was happening。I'm happy to say that good communication finally resolved the problems and led to a happily ever after。I read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of the book and this is my voluntary review of it。 。。。more

A wonderful story about a mail order bride that has fought so hard to become a doctor。 The characters were intriguing and entertaining。 I was just a little disappointed in Alec’s behavior a time or two, but it just added a little tension to the story。

working hard to become a Dr。 in spite of prejest against women。 then needs a place to practice。 Foll her as she takes risk to be accepted 。 Lots of turns to follow。
